Toni

In the 1920s, immigrants seeking work in the quarries or agriculture flock to Provence. Many mingle with the locals and make long-term commitments, such as Toni, an Italian who lives with Marie, a Frenchwoman. Toni gets trapped in a web of more emotional interactions, despite her well-ordered existence being immune to boredom, friendship, love, or hate. There is Fernand, his greatest friend, but there is also Albert, his domineering boss; Sebastian, a sturdy Spanish peasant, but there is also Gabi, his young rogue relative; Marie, but there is also Josefa.
