American Dreams
American Dreams is an American television drama program broadcast over the NBC television System, produced by Once A Frog and Dick Clark Productions in association with Universal Network Television and NBC Studios. Jonathan Prince created the series and produced by Prince and also Josh Goldstein. The latter was one of the manufacturers with Dick Clark. It debuted on September 29, 2002. The show is set mostly in Philadelphia. It initially aired at 8:00 pm on Sundays, but moved to the period on Wednesdays to the season finale. The show tells the story of the Pryor family of Philadelphia during the mid-1960s. Season one takes place in 1963--season two in 1964, 64 --65, and season three in 1965--66. As it debuted in Australia, 14, the show was understood as Our Generation it was shifted back to American Dreams when it came back to the season.
The theme song"Generation" was first written and performed with Emerson Hart, lead singer of the band Tonic. The tune earned an ASCAP award for the Best Theme Song of Television to Hart . The show was the 2003 TV Land Awards"Future Vintage" winner.
