Another World
The following World is an American television soap opera that ran on NBC for 35 years from May 4, 1964. Set in the fictional town of Bay City, the show in its first years opens using announcer Bill Wolff intoning its own epigram,"We do not live in this world independently, in a million different worlds," which Phillips said signified the gap between"the entire world of events we dwell in, and also the environment of feelings and fantasies that we strive for." The other World focused less on melodrama between categories of philosophies and distinct classes, and much more on the conventional drama of life as seen from soap operas.
