Bread
Bread is a British television sitcom, written by Carla Lane, produced by the BBC and screened on BBC1 from 1 May 1986 into 3.
The show dedicated to the devoutly-Catholic and lengthy Boswell family of Liverpool, at the field of Dingle, led by its matriarch Nellie by way of a number of downs and ups as they strove to make their way throughout life in Thatcher's Britain with no visible way of support. The street shown at the start of every programme is Elswick Street. A household named Boswell had featured Lane sitcom The Liver Birds and also Lane admitted in interviews that the 2 families were probably related.
Freddie, husband and nellie's feckless, abandoned her for another woman known as'Lilo Lill'. Her kids Joey, Jack, Adrian, Aveline and Billy continued to dwell at the family home in Kelsall Street and donated money to the central family finance , largely through benefit fraud and the sale of goods.
