Cheers is an American sitcom tv series which ran for 11 seasons from 1982 to 1993. It was created by Charles/Burrows/Charles Productions in association with Paramount Network Television for NBC and made by the team of Glen Charles, James Burrows, and Les Charles. The series is put in a pub where a set of sailors meet to drink, relax, and socialize, named Cheers in Boston, Massachusetts. The show's theme song, written and played by Gary Portnoy, also co-written using Judy Hart Angelo, lent its famous refrain,"Where Everybody Knows Your Name", as the show's tag line.
After premiering on September 30, 1982, it was canceled during its first season as it ranked last in ratings for the premiere. Cheers, however, finally turned into a highly rated television series in the USA, earning a topten evaluation including 1 season at no 1. The series spent the majority of its run on NBC's Thursday night"Must See TV" lineup. Its watched series finale was broadcast on May 20, 1993, and the show's 275 episodes have been successfully syndicated global. Nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series for several eleven of its seasons on the air, 28 Emmy Awards have been got by it from a 117 nominations. The character Frasier Crane has been featured within his eponymous series, which contained guest appearances by all of the main and minor Cheers characters and aired up until 2004.
