Crime Story
Crime Story can be an American television play, created Chuck Adamson and by Gustave Reininger, which premiered in 1986 and ran for 2 seasons on NBC. The producer was Michael Mann, who had left his series Miami Vice lead the film Manhunter and to oversee Crime Story. Over 30 million viewers premiered using a two-wheeled pilot -- a picture that was shown theatrically -- and watched the show. It was subsequently scheduled to check out Miami Vice on Friday nights, and proceeded to draw a record number of viewers. NBC moved the show contrary ABC's Moonlighting to Tuesdays at 10 pm, hurting its evaluations that NBC ordered its cancellation after only two seasons.
Place in the early, pre-Beatles 1960s, the show depicted two men -- Lt. Mike Torello and mobster Ray Luca -- with an obsessive drive to destroy one another. Since Luca started with street crime in Chicago, was"forced" in the Chicago Outfit and subsequently delivered to vegas to track their casinos, Torello pursued Luca as part of a particular Organized Crime Strike Force. Torellohis friend Ted Kehoe, and Luca had developed in Chicago's"The Patch" neighborhood, also known as"Little Sicily" or"Little Italy" and the haunt of the forty two Gang. The show brought controversy and acclaim because of its serialized format, where there was a storyline told over an whole season, rather as was ordinary with all shows at the time.
