Thirty years ago a strange occurrence referred to as a"spacequake" devastated the guts of Eurasia, claiming the lives of 150 million people. Ever since that time, smaller spacequakes plague the world within an intermittent basis. Shido Itsuka, a seemingly standard high schooler comes across a mysterious girl at the ground zero of a spacequake and finds she's one of those"Spirits" who're the actual cause of their spacequakes that occur if they manifest themselves from the entire universe. He's recruited to use his ability to seal the Spirits' powers from being a hazard to humanity, hence stopping them. However, there is actually a catch: to seal Spirit's ability, he has to make her love him and kiss him.
