Freakazoid!
Freakazoid! is an American animated TV show that was made by Bruce Timm and Paul Dini for the Kids' WB programming block of The WB. The show follows the adventures of the title character, Freakazoid, who is a crazy superhero who fights a variety of supervillains. The show also has mini-episodes about the adventures of other strange superheroes. The show was created by Amblin Entertainment and Warner Bros. Animation. The cartoon was the third animated series that Steven Spielberg and Warner Bros. Animation made together during the animation renaissance of the late 1980s and early 1990s. With Tiny Toon Adventures and Animaniacs airing, rumors are spreading on the internet that Freakazoid! will be on the Hub Network. Bruce Timm, who is best known as a major part of the DC animated universe, originally wanted Freakazoid! to be a straight-up superhero action-adventure cartoon with some comic elements. However, executive producer Steven Spielberg asked series producer and writer Tom Ruegger and the Animaniacs team to change Freakazoid! into a straight-up comedy. The show is similar to other Ruegger-led shows like Animaniacs, and the humor is unique in that it uses slapstick, breaking the fourth wall, parody, surreal humor, and pop culture references.
