Get a Life
Receive a Life can be really a tv sitcom that has been broadcast at the United States on the Fox Network in September 2-3, 1990, to March 8, 1992. The show stars Chris Elliott being being a 30-year-old paper boy called Chris Peterson. Peterson lived in a apartment above his parents' garage. The opening credits portray Chris Peterson delivering papers on his bike into the show's theme song,"Stand" by R.E.M.
The show turned into a generation of writer/director David Mirkin, Adam Resnick and Elliott. Mirkin was producer/showrunner of the show and directed a lot of the episodes. Notable writers of the show included Charlie Kaufman, screenwriter of Being John Malkovich. And Bob Odenkirk, co-creator of both Mr. Show with Bob and David and Tenacious D.
The show was unconventional for a primetime sitcom, and several times the storylines of the episodes were ravaged. As an instance, Elliott's character really expires in a dozen episodes. The causes of death included choking on cereal, falling from an airplane getting run over by cars, being crushed by a boulder, old age, tonsillitis gunshot wounds, and exploding. For this reason, it was difficult for Mirkin and Elliott to find the show. A number of the executives at the Fox Network loathed the show and thought that the character of Elliott was too mad and that it was too disturbing.
