Gilligan's Island
Gilligan's Isle is a American sitcom created and produced by Sherwood Schwartz and produced by United Artists Television. Bob Denver was featured by the situation comedy series. Alan Hale, Jr.. Jim Backus. Natalie Schafer. Tina Louise. Russell Johnson. and Dawn Wells. It aired for three seasons on the CBS network from September 26, 1964. While they strove to survive the island on which they had been shipwrecked originally sponsored by Philip Morris & Company and Procter & Gamble, the show followed the adventures of seven castaways. Most episodes revolve around the castaways' battles and their failed efforts to flee their own plight.
Gilligan's Island ran to get a total of 98 episodes. The first season was first filmed in black-and-white. The episodes were later colorized for syndication. The show's third and second seasons and the three tv picture sequels were filmed in color.
The show enjoyed ratings throughout its initial run, then climbed through the years of syndication, especially in the 1970s and 1980s when many niches ran the show in the late afternoon after school. To day, Gilligan's title character is known as an American cultural icon.
