Gurren Lagann

People in the far future live in subterranean tunnels and rear domestic animals. As a result, people have lived in constant fear of earthquakes and cave-ins for hundreds of years. One such village is Jeeha. One day, a child named Simon comes across a little, gleaming drill while digging to extend the hamlet. Simultaneously, Kamina, a man who believes there is another land above the settlement, convinces a thug to bust through the ceiling and exit the tunnel. An earthquake happens, and the ceiling collapses, followed by a large robot smashing through the ceiling. Kamina is now convinced that a planet exists above them. He rushes into combat with the robot. At that moment, another individual arrives from the land above. It's a girl named Yoko. She had been following the robot with a weapon in her hand. All she could do was distract it. Then Simon shows Kamina and Yoko what he discovered. It's a weird robot whose head doubles as its body.
