Heartland
Heartland was an Australian television drama show that ran at 1994 in the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. It ran to thirteen episodes and starred Cate Blanchett along with Ernie Dingo. The show was known as Burned Bridge in a few countries.
Heartland deals with the puzzle surrounding the doubts in regards to the guilt of her boyfriend, who's arrested for her murder and the death of an Aboriginal girl. It's also a love story between two of those people their relationship that is climbing must survive from the white and black communities and the obstacles of attitudes these backgrounds and cultures. Set at a little town from the turmoils of romance, mystery and murder, Heartland follows both the individuals using the seaside community and their struggle to restructure their means of life. Their struggle to restore their selfesteem to get a future that is positive, regardless of the challenges in their course.
Plot elements revolve round Elizabeth Ashton, a writer coming in a small community's personality. A degree of distress is present towards the newcomer who's oblivious of any underlying racial tensions. This naivety lets local Aborigine Vincent Burunga to be more easily befriended by her. This combination is the authorities officer Phil McCarthy who seeks Ashton's affections whilst being aggressive to her friendship using Burunga, maybe not simply as a suitor, but because of racial bias.
