Matador
Matador is just a Danish television show produced and shown between 1978 and 1982. It's located in the Danish town of Korsbæk between 1947 and 1929. It follows the lives of a range of characters from across the social spectrum, focusing specifically on the rivalry between the families of two sailors: The banker Hans Christian Varnæs, a recognized local worthy, along with social climber Mads Skjern, that arrives around as the show opens. The name Matador has been taken from the localised edition of this board game Monopoly the show' tentative name that was English. Furthermore, in contemporary Danish a"matador" is most usually used to describe a business tycoon, in the show discussing to this nature of Mads Skjern along with also his craftiness as being a self sustaining entrepreneur.
Directed by famous Danish movie maker Erik Balling, Matador has been author Lise Nørgaard's idea who composed the bulk of the episodes alongside Karen Smith, Jens Louis Petersen and Paul Hammerich. The show reflects the peak of longtime maturation of television drama by the service station Danmarks Radio and is just one of the popular and very well-known samples of tv.
The show has been a portion of this of Danes because a warm Danish humor in the depiction of characters and of its mix of melodrama, that a variety of the very common celebrities at the moment depicted. But maybe perhaps not because of its portrayal of a tumultuous Denmark from across the onset of the Great Depression and during Nazi Germany's occupation of Denmark in World War II.
