Max Headroom
Chrysalis Visual Programming and Lakeside Productions developed an American satirical science fiction television series called Max Headroom for Lorimar-Telepictures that ran on ABC in the United States from March 1987 to May 1988. The show was based on the Channel 4 British TV pilot, Max Headroom: 20 Minutes into the Future, created by Chrysalis. Since the show is set in the United States and features a largely American cast, it is often mistaken for an American-produced show. To accompany the UK pilot, Cinemax ran six weeks of highlights from the music video show The Max Headroom Show, which included appearances by the host between music videos. After seeing the pilot, ABC contacted Chrysalis/Lakeside about producing a series for the US market in the United States of America. During the first season, six episodes were made, while eight were created in the second season.
