Perfect Strangers
ABC aired the sitcom Perfect Strangers for eight seasons between March25, 1986 and August6, 1993. Based on a true story about Larry Appleton and Balki Bartokomous, a distant relative from eastern Mediterranean Europe, the series was created by Dale McRaven and follows their turbulent relationship. The short six-episode initial season, which aired on Tuesdays in the spring of1986, moved to prime time on Wednesdays in the fall of 1986. Until March1988, it was held on Wednesdays. In that month, it was changed to Fridays. ABC's initial TGIF Friday-night lineup was anchored by the show, however it ran on Saturdays for a brief period in 1992.
