Phoenix Nights
The Phoenix Club is a working men's club located in the town of Farnworth, which is located in Greater Manchester, and it is the subject of the British sitcom Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights. The show was created by Goodnight Vienna Productions and Ovation Entertainments, and it was televised on Channel 4 in the United Kingdom. Neil Fitzmaurice, Peter Kay, and Dave Spikey were the writers for the show. Toni Baker and Peter Kay are responsible for the composition of all of the music. Paddy McGuinness was kind enough to supply us with supplementary material. There have been two series made, the initial transmissions of which took place in 2001 and 2002 respectively. The show is an offshoot of the parody documentary series That Peter Kay Thing, which in turn spawned the spin-off series Max and Paddy's Road to Nowhere. At the British Comedy Awards in2002, it was recognized as the recipient of the People's Choice Award, in addition to being nominated for several other awards. Kay is not only the director of the second series but also the star of the show, playing several characters. Kay announced in September 2006 that a third series of Phoenix Nights has been written, although it is unknown when the series would be filmed. The announcement was made on BBC Radio 1 at the time. Kay made yet another statement on the 8th of May,2007, stating that she will be producing yet another series. However, Dave Spikey stated in interviews that he and fellow co-writer Neil Fitzmaurice were unaware of any intentions to bring back the series. These interviews took place in late 2009 and were conducted by The Sentinel and the Croydon Guardian.
