Police Squad!

Police Squad! Is a tv comedy series first broadcast in 1982, developed by Jerry Zucker, Jim Abrahams and David Zucker, and starring Leslie Nielsen. A spoof of police procedurals comprised Zucker, Abrahams and Zucker's usual sight gags, word play and non sequiturs. While a parody of many television shows and movies, it bore a similarity to the 1960s show Felony Squad, M Squad and the Lee Marvin cop show. The show spawned the thriving Naked Gun film collection, although cancelled after just six episodes. Television Guide ranked it 7 to their own 2013 list of 60 shows that were"Cancelled Too Soon".
