Remington Steele
Remington Steele is an American television personality. The show incorporated elements of romantic comedy, drama, and detective procedural. Remington Steele is well recognized for starting Pierce Brosnan's career and serving as a precursor to the similar series Moonlighting. Remington Steele's concept is that Laura Holt, a licensed private detective played by Stephanie Zimbalist, founded her own detective firm but discovered that potential clients refused to hire a woman, no matter how good she was. Laura creates a phony male boss, Remington Steele, to fix the problem. Pierce Brosnan's character, a former robber and con man whose real name is never disclosed, takes the guise of Remington Steele through a series of events that unravel in the first episode, "License to Steele." Laura is still in charge behind the scenes.
