Salute Your Shorts
Salute Your Shorts is a Nickelodeon comedy television show that aired from 1991 to 1992 and was reruns until early 1999. It was based on Steve Slavkin's 1986 book, Salute Your Shorts: Life at Summer Camp. The series was set at the summer camp Camp Anawant to, which was filmed at Franklin Canyon Park and the Griffith Park Boys Camp within Griffith Park in Los Angeles. It focuses on a group of adolescent campers, their strict and bossy counselor, and the various pranks and shenanigans they get up to. The title is derived from a common camper prank: a group of kids steals a boy's boxer shorts and raises them up a flagpole. As a result, when other kids see them waving like a flag, they will salute them as part of the prank.
