Shipping Wars
Shipping Wars is a reality TV series on A&E that began airing on January 10, 2012. The series follows six carriers that have discovered that fortunes can be produced transporting items that traditional carriers cannot or will not haul. The series also features the entire world's biggest online auction house for independent truckers, uShip. For Season 1, the featured carriers include Jarrett Joyce, Roy Garber, Jennifer Brennan, Marc Springer, and Scott and Suzanne Bawcom. Starting with Season two, Christopher Hanna and Robbie Welsh's Group replaces the Bawcoms. Season 3 premiered on December 12, 2012. New shippers Johnny Chavez and the Group of Courtney Aguilera and Chelsea Grant appear in Season 4.
In a typical event, bids are placed by the carriers on two jobs recorded on u-ship, in a reverse auction format. Each client gets the option of committing the job to the bidder, or to a greater bidder primarily based on feedback from customers. Ties are broken in favor of the carrier with the greater feedback rating. Winners load their freight and try to deliver it intact by the customer's deadline. Since the heaps are delivered, feedback ratings from customers are displayed. With the expenses subtracted to ascertain the profit or loss, each carrier's net profit or loss is, at the end of the episode. At times, a carrier will arrange to haul one or more lots with the money, on the same trip.
