Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju

He knows exactly where he is going when a man is released from prison. After falling in love with a standard comic story teller's rendition of this story known as"Shinigami," he's determined to become his apprentice. The performer, Yakumo, never obtained an apprentice earlier, but to everyone's surprise, he takes the eager ex-prisoner, nicknaming him"Yotaro." As Yotaro thankfully begins his life, he matches with others in the lifetime of Yakumo, including Yakumo's ward Konatsu. Konatsu was a famous storyteller's daughter, also she was taken by Yakumo after the tragic departure of her father. Konatsu would really like to become a celebrity in her own right, and adored her father's storytelling --but that path is not readily available for women.
