Spider-Man: The New Animated Series
Spider-Man: The New Animated Series is an American animated series based on the Marvel comic book superhero character Spider-Man that aired on July 11, 2003 for one season and thirteen episodes. It is a loose continuation of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man film from 2002. The show, which aired on MTV and YTV, was created utilizing computer-generated visuals rendered in cel shading. Eight months after the series finale, replays of the episodes aired on ABC Family as part of the Jetix television programming block. The series presented a significantly more mature depiction of the character than is normal for any animated comic book adaptation on television. Characters are obviously slain during the series, rather than simply disappearing, and numerous characters are heavily hinted to have had sex.
