The Cosby Show
The Cosby Show is an American television situation comedy starring Bill Cosby, that aired from September 20, 1984 until April 30, 1992. The series centers on the family, an upper middleclass African American family.
According to TV Guide, the series"was television's most important hit in the 1980s, and also nearly single-handedly revived the sitcom genre along with NBC's ratings fortunes". The series was pitched. Entertainment Weekly stated that The Cosby Show assisted to make possible that a bigger Assortment of shows based on people of African American descent, from Living Color to The Fresh Prince of Belair. The Cosby Show was based in Cosby's standup act, which were based on his family life on humor routines. That blueprint would be, later followed by sitcoms, such as do it yourself and Everyone Loves Raymond. The series spawned the spin-off A Different World, that ran for six seasons.
