The Gentle Touch was a British television police drama that aired on ITV from 1980 through1984. The series was produced by London Weekend Television for that network. The first episode of the series was broadcast on April11,1980, and it is remarkable for being the first British series to feature a female police investigator as its main character. It did so four months before the BBC series Juliet Bravo, which was based on a similar premise.
