The Hospital
The Hospital is a 2006 Play starring Ng Man Tat, Leon Dai, Janine Chang, Zhang Guozhu, Jerry Yan and Tang Zhiping. Yang-ming International Production created it and directed by Cài Yuè Xun. The show comprises thirty nine 60-minute episodes and was boardcasted on free-to-air China Television from 1-5 August 2006 to 6 October 2006, Mondays to Fridays at 20:00.
The story of this Hospital is based on the 2000 Chinese book of the same name by author Hou Wenyong that was Taiwanese. It depicts the energy battle and prestige in the human relations within the community, as well as a federal university-affiliated hospital in Taiwan. Due to the resemblances in the name and story setting, Hou's book is often compared together with the Japanese book Shiroi Kyot?, written by Toyoko Yamasaki. Both works have been accommodated into television show in Asia.
In 2007, the play was nominated for eight awards at the 42nd Golden Bell Awards and won Best Supporting Actor in a Television Series and Best Directing for a Television Series.
