In the summer of 1995, two teenaged girls that were vulnerable are accused of murdering their schoolteacher. For seventeen years, the two girls go their individual ways, Poppy having been charged with this murder. Fastforward to present moment. Since she cares for her mother Rachel happily married mum Serena is now in the beachfront city for the very first time. Poppy is living in conditions that are different.
