The Lieutenant
The Lieutenant is the earliest produced by Gene Roddenberry, the American television series. It aired on NBC. Arena Productions, one of the most successful production companies of this 1960s of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer made it. Situated at Camp Pendleton, the West Coast foundation of this U.S. Marine Corps, The Lieutenant focuses on the men of the Corps in serenity time with a Cold War backdrop. The title character is 2nd Lieutenant William Tiberius Rice, a rifle platoon leader and one of the training instructors at Camp Pendleton. An hourlong drama investigates the lives of both enlisted Marines and officers alike.
The series was released on DVD in 2 places that were half-season by the Warner Archive Collection.
