The Real Housewives of Vancouver
Canadian reality television series The Real Housewives of Vancouver airs on the Slice cable network in Canada. In August 2011, production for the Shaw Media series began, marking the first time in Canada that the Real Housewives franchise has aired. At 9 p.m. ET/PT, the show made its debut on April 4, 2012. After drawing 1.2 million viewers during its two-hour run, the two-hour premiere set a new record as the highest-rated premiere in the network's history. Season 2 of Slice was announced for a second season on May 30, 2012, according to Slice's official website. It was in July 2012 that production for season two began, with returning cast members Jody Claman, Ronnie Seterdahl Negus, and Mary Zilba joining newcomers Amanda Hansen, Ioulia Reynolds, and Robin Richmond Reichman in the studio. In the United States, the second season premiered on February 5, 2013 at 10pm ET/PT. Rather of having to cut the season further shorter, Slice decided to forgo a reunion for the second season in order to give more episodes. As of June 6, 2013, Shaw Media, the parent company of Slice, declared that the series would be "on hiatus" as the firm looks for new opportunities.
