The Tribe
The Tribe is a fresh Zealand/British post apocalyptic literary television series aimed at teenagers. It is put in a near-future by which adults are wiped out by a deadly virus, leaving the children of this world to fend off for themselves. The show's focus is based on an unnamed city inhabited by tribes of children and teenagers. It was filmed in and around Wellington, New Zealand.
The collection Was Made by Raymond Thompson and Harry Duffin and was developed and produced by the Cloud 9 Screen Entertainment Group in conjunction with the UK's Channel 5. It's been aired over 40 broadcast networks round the planet.
It debuted on Channel 5 on 24 April 1999 and immediately gained a huge group of fans. From 1999 to 2003, five series and 260 half-hour episodes were produced. Series 6 was scheduled to begin filming in 2003, but Nick Wilson, of Channel 5, along with Raymond Thompson believed that"even though the series was doing well, the throw was becoming too old as well as the string was starting to stretch the center proposition." They believed that the characters were not kids fending for themselves without even adults some longer. As a result, the series was cancelled. The last two episodes on 6 aired .
