Stalag 17
It's a Christmas 1944 for Its American POWs in Stalag 17. For those men in Barracks 4, most of sergeants, have to take care of a problem that is grave - there seems to be a security escape. Even the Germans appear to get forewarned about escapes and in the latest effort the two men, Manfredi and Johnson, walked into a trap and were killed. For some in Barracks 4, especially the loud-mouthed Duke, the leaker is obvious: J.J. Sefton, a wheelerdealer who doesn't hesitate to trade with the guards and who has acquired goods and privileges that no other prisoner seems to own. Sefton denies giving any information to the Germans and makes it quite clear that he does not have any intention of trying to flee. It doesn't extend to spying on the Germans, although he intends to ride the war out at what comfort they is able to arrange.
